If you find yourself regularly having to delete games from your Xbox One’s hard drive in order to make room for new titles, then Seagate’s latest product, known as the Game Drive, is designed to combat this issue, providing an extra 2 TB of space in a compact, purpose-built package.
When the Xbox One was launched back in 2013, it had 500 GB of internal storage but many modern AAA games take as much as 30 or 40 GB a piece. Microsoft released a more expensive and finished 1 TB model earlier this year, but the issue remains still for anyone that had already picked up the older system and don’t want to update his console just for extra 500GB of space.
Well , That’s where Seagate’s latest product comes in. The Game Drive for Xbox is a 2 TB hard drive designed to expand the console’s storage capacity. It is build in partnership with Microsoft and is aimed for making it as easy as possible to expand the console’s storage. It connects to the low storage console via USB 3.0 (it works with the Xbox 360 also), and is designed for easy plug-and-play use. The new hard disk doesn’t need any external power supply, so you can easily throw it in a bag and take your game data with you to a friend’s house.

The Game Drive measures 4.6 by 3.1 by 0.6 inches (HWD) and weighs 6 ounces, giving it the same dimensions as Seagate’s Expansion Portable external hard drive, which is itself quite similar to the Seagate Backup Plus Slim. Basically, you’re spending about an extra $10 for an Xbox logo and a color scheme that matches the console.
The Seagate’s new Game Drive for Xbox will start shipping later this month for about US$110.
