MSAI launches I Feel Safe Mobile app
MSAI – Mobile Standards Alliance of India has teamed up with Nirbhaya Jyoti Trust to launch their app “I Feel Safe” which ensures better security for women and children.
The new mobile app was launched at an event held at Delhi University by Smt. Asha Devi, mother of ‘Nirbhaya’. The event witnessed over 500 DU students and various people from Women organization and media.
“For years, women in our country have suffered abuse. It is very important to change the social mindsets of our people so that every girl in our country receives the respect which she deserves,” expressed Shri Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The newly launched app is powered by Nirbhaya Jyoti Trust and provides safety for its smartphone users. This app instantly adds a virtual panic button. If any user is in distress and need emergency service, can press the virtual button five times and it will automatically activate an alarm and will send real time location of the user’s smartphone to the concerned authorities. The app is said to work without internet, SIM card or even unlocking the smartphone screen.
In the circumstance of an emergency, I Feel Safe app will notifies the user’s emergency contacts with the details of their current location. It will also place an automatic call to the national emergency number 100 and the device location is tracked every 30 seconds. The I feel safe call center team also provides support to overcome the situation.
The app is free to use. The app will be available for both Android and iOS. Official Website
